For Immediate Release – August 15, 2009
Perigeaux Vineyards & Winery, St. Leonard, MD

Perigeaux Vineyards & Winery would like to extend an invitation to members of the media to come to the vineyard during the next four (4) weekends to observe harvest operations in progress.  The adventurous among you are even welcome to pick some grapes and help with crushing/de-stemming processes.  This is an unusual opportunity that we hope you don’t miss!  If you are interested in observing and/or helping with our annual harvest, please contact the vineyard owner at the below email or phone number.

We are pleased to announce that our 2007 Mackall Road Merlot and 2007 Patuxent River Muscato both won bronze medals at the 2009 Maryland Winemaster’s Choice Competition.  Also of note, we recently premiered our 2007 Perigeaux Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay Reserve wines at Nick's of Calvert (a fine wine and food market in Prince Frederick, Maryland) and our Chardonnay and Merlot Reserve wines are now on the wine list at the Dry Dock Restaurant (one of Southern Maryland's premier restaurants, on Solomon’s Island).

Perigeaux Vineyards & Winery produces wines from our own estate-grown vineyards right here in Calvert County. We are one of only a handful of Maryland wineries to do so.  We feel that local foods, local grapes, and local wines are the perfect combination!

Current goings on at the farm include the 2008 red wines resting comfortably in the barrels for the next 9-12 months, aging until they are perfect for bottling next year.  Upcoming events include: The Maryland Wine Festival (Sept 19-20 in Westminster, MD) and The Riverside Wine Festival at Sotterley Plantation (Oct 3-4 in Hollywood, MD).  Also this summer, Perigeaux Vineyards & Winery has a regular tent most Friday evenings from 6:00-9:00 at the North Beach Farmer’s Market.

Perigeaux Vineyard & Winery is located off of Route 4 in St. Leonard, MD and is open for visitors from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturdays and from noon-5 p.m. on Sundays, by appointment.  To find out more about Perigeaux Vineyards and Winery, please visit our website: www.Perigeaux.com  or Facebook Page (Perigeaux Vineyards Winery), or call us (410-586-2710; Owner: John Behun,  john@perigeaux.com).
